Cube Housing Completes New Homes

Cube Housing has completed a new development in Clydebank.

The 33-home development, known as The Scholars, has been constructed on the grounds of the former Clydebank College.

It consists of nine one-bedroom and 24 two-bedroom flats for local residents whose homes were demolished as part of a regeneration project of the town.

Through a partnership with Barratt West Scotland, plus support from West Dunbartonshire Council and the Scottish Government, Cube Housing purchased the flats to provide more small, good-quality homes at affordable rents for local people.

Attending the hand over ceremony, Cube Housing Chair, Liz Ruine, said: "It's great to see tenants moving into these spacious, modern, energy-efficient flats. Tenants are delighted with the location, the size and layout of the flats. It is a great example of how Cube is helping play an important role in the regeneration of Clydebank. By working with our partners we can continue to change lives for the better."

David Scott, Managing Director of Barratt West Scotland, added: "The Scholars is one of Barratt Homes' most successful developments in the West of Scotland and we are thrilled that our relationship with Cube has delivered much-needed housing for tenants in Clydebank.

"The development is almost complete and has already created a thriving new neighbourhood in the town, offering a diverse range of tenants the best quality housing for their needs."

Councillor David McBride, West Dunbartonshire Council's Convener of Housing, said: "The Council is delighted to work with Wheatley Group to provide quality homes for our residents.

"The former college site in Clydebank is not only providing affordable homes, but is part of the regeneration of Clydebank and I look forward to working with the Group on future projects."

The Wheatley Group is Cube's parent company.
