The first images of Eastwood High Sports Centre have been released ahead of its official opening on Monday 24 June.

The new centre has been constructed in a combined project with Eastwood High School, costing £28.9m. Its state-of-the-art facilities will be used by pupils during the school hours and will be made available to the whole community in the evenings and weekends.

The facility features:

  • Swimming pool
  • Fitness/dance studio
  • Synthetic athletics track
  • Synthetic hockey pitch
  • Small games hall
While a majority of the centre is new, some of the existing facilities have been refurbished.

Convener for Community Services and Community Safety, Councillor Mary Montague, said: "This is a first-class resource not only for the pupils of Eastwood High but for the whole community.

"The new facilities are state-of-the-art and I would encourage local residents to come and try them out for themselves.

"It is great, too, to see some of the existing sports facilities, such as the swimming pool, upgraded to such a high standard. Together they create an excellent sports centre for the people of East Renfrewshire."
