A Scottish construction company has stepped in to help with a schools' design competition.
The A. Proctor Group, based in Blairgowrie in Perth and Kinross, provided Styrofoam to the day-long Creative Spaces competition in Dundee for entrants to build their architectural models with.
Doug Binnie of Nicoll Russell Studios, chairman of the Creative Spaces Steering Group, said: "The initial motivation for Creative Spaces was to use the knowledge, experience and expertise of those involved to help stimulate local schoolchildren to perhaps consider a career in the design related professions and/or in the construction industry."
The competition took place on May 2.
A spokesman for the A.Proctor Group said: "Styrofoam is more than an effective thermal insulant. It is lightweight, yet exceptionally strong, safe in use and capable of being precision-engineered. It has a unique combination of physical and chemical characteristics that make it a key component in a wide variety of today’s high performance composite structures."
