Casing accessory and completion tool company Downhole Products have announced a key appointment to the UK team.

Peter Byth has joined the company in the role of finance officer, bringing to the Portlethen-based team 30 years of financial experience in electronics, food ingredients, pharmaceuticals, speciality chemicals and the oil and gas sector.

Commenting on Peter’s appointment, Downhole Products’ managing director Ian Kirk said: "Peter has held numerous positions and gained a wealth of experience within organisations both large and small, all with global reach.

Downhole Products are a leader in the design, manufacture and supply of casing accessories and completion tools such as centralisers, reamer guide shoes and cable clamp protectors. The most recent addition to their product offering is CaseBit, a joint development with American parent company Varel International which incorporates patent pending features designed to ensure effective drilling and smooth drill-out for the following string.

The company’s headquarters are at Portlethen near Aberdeen, Scotland and it also operates bases in the Middle East, Asia, USA and Australia. Downhole Products recently announced that it had been awarded its second prestigious Queen’s Award – the UK’s highest accolade for business success.
