WSP Wins Contract To Help Deliver £64m Orkney Hospital

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has been selected to help deliver a new £64 million hospital in Orkney.

The industry consultancy will carry out the role of Independent Tester on the development, which is being delivered by NHS Orkney and Robertson Capital Projects.

Features include checking the design and specification of the construction of the building along with related infrastructure.

The deal adds to WSP's current portfolio of PPP projects across Scotland, which involves working as funder's technical adviser on Hub South East.

In addition, the consultancy is providing technical asset management support including fire and latent defect surveys to investors across numerous Scottish portfolios.

Derek Sharkey, technical director at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff's PPP and Capital Investment team, said: "We are delighted to have secured this commission, which is personally pleasing having worked with NHS Orkney during my time at hub North Scotland.
