Civil engineering remains as one of the traditional strengths of HBS. Many factors have contributed to our continuing success, not least of which is our depth of knowledge and experience in meeting the challenges of this market sector. This combination of traditional skills and modern techniques has enabled the company to meet the infrastructure needs of many of our commercial and residential projects, ensuring that the company has full control over the programming and construction of many of its developments, at all times.

Traditional civil engineering remains at the heart of HBS’s structure and is one of its core strengths. With record numbers of wind power schemes achieving planning permission, the renewable energy sector has been identified as an area of future growth for the company and has featured strongly in our recent workload. With this in mind, HBS is now in the enviable position of having successfully completed the Balance of Plant works for the Cruach Mhor windfarm in Argyll and Wether Hill windfarm in Monaivie, and Hagshaw Hill windfarm in Douglas, South Lanarkshire with work now started on the large windfarm development at Mark Hill near Girvin in Ayrshire.
Commercial Building
In parallel with the development of its civil engineering capability, HBS also has a strong reputation in the building sector, with over 80 years experience gained in all aspects of the industry. Undertaking work in both the civil engineering and building disciplines has helped to generate for the company, an integrated construction service, which is an invaluable asset when dealing with the complex construction issues that can arise during technically demanding projects.
