About SafeTay Fire Safety Consultancy

SafeTay Fire Safety Consultancy is a small independent business that specialises in Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Training for businesses and their employees. The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 placed the responsibility of fire safety within a workplace with the employer and/or owner and as such they must undertake a Fire Risk Assessment of their premises. If there are 5 or more employees, the Fire Risk Assessments and outcomes must be recorded.

The Fire Risk Assessment must be undertaken by persons who are competent and experienced. All staff must be trained in fire safety awareness and evacuation procedures for the premises and an Emergency Action Plan should also be in place. Where there are 5 or more employees a Fire Safety Policy should be developed to include all fire safety activities. SafeTay Fire Safety Consultancy can provide your business with professional and impartial advice and guidance and staff training, leaving you free to concentrate on the business in hand.

We offer the following services:
  • Fire Risk Assessment
  • Fire Safety Training for Staff
  • Comprehensive Emergency Action Plan
  • Advice regarding Fire Safety Policy
  • Fire Safety Advisory Service (Architects, Builders etc.)
  • Annual Reviews available

Virtually all premises, with the exception of domestic premises, require a Fire Risk Assessment. For example, Care Homes, Residential Homes, Sheltered Housing, Hospices, Hospitals, Assisted Caring Premises, Schools, Nurseries, Universities, Colleges, Hotels, B&Bs, Self-Catering Premises, Hostels, Holiday Parks, Houses in Multiple Occupation, Public Houses, Bars, Restaurants, Cafes, Nightclubs, Cinemas, Theatres, Concert and Festivals Halls/Arenas, Child Entertainment Venues, Community and Recreation Centres, Sports Arenas/Grounds, Marquees, Tents, Offices, Shops and Factories all fall into this category.
